Explanation
Order of verb analysis: 1) its question (nima qildi?); 2) word class – verb; 3) tense; 4) affirmative or negative; 5) person and number; 6) base and suffixes (forming, negation, tense, person-number); 7) the word it goes with; 8) its role in the sentence – predicate.
Worked examples
Biz xonani tozaladik. (We cleaned the room.) – tozaladik: nima qildik? verb, past, affirmative, 1st person plural; toza – base, -la – verb-forming, -di – past, -k – person-number; joined to xonani; predicate.
Men bormayapman. (I am not going.) – bor – base, -ma – negation, -yap – present, -man – 1st person singular.
Class activity
“Analysis table”: children draw a table: verb – tense – affirmative/negative – person-number – base and suffixes, and fill it for given verbs.
