Verbs joined to words with case suffixes

Textbook: Part 4, pp. 68–69
GoalHow verbs join words with case suffixes: the questions nimani? kimga? qayerda? qayerdan? to the verb.
New words
accusative · tushumdirectional case · jo‘nalishlocative · o‘rin-paytablative · chiqish
Explanation

A verb joins the word it goes with by case suffixes. Accusative: nimani yozdi? – xatni yozdi (wrote a letter). Dative: qayerga bordi? – maktabga bordi (went to school). Locative: qayerda o‘ynadi? – bog‘da o‘ynadi (played in the garden). Ablative: qayerdan keldi? – uydan keldi (came from home). By asking the verb a question we find the joined word and its case.

Worked examples
Ukam rasmni chizdi. (My brother drew the picture.) – nimani chizdi? – rasmni (accusative).
Biz bozordan keldik. (We came from the market.) – qayerdan keldik? – bozordan (ablative).
Class activity

“Question chain”: the teacher says a verb (ketdi), children ask several questions: kim? qayerdan? qayerga? and answer.

Practice
1
Find the joined word and its case: Men maktabga bordim.
2
Ask the verb a question: Dadam gazetani o‘qidi.
3
Make a sentence: “uydan” + “chiqdi”.
