Verb-forming suffixes

Textbook: Part 4, pp. 61–63
GoalKnow that verb-forming suffixes make new words.
New words
to form, make · yasamoqto clean · tozalamoqto work · ishlamoqto speak · so‘zlamoq
Explanation

Word-forming suffixes make words with a new meaning. Some of them make verbs from nouns or adjectives. The most common is -la: ish + la = ishla (work), tuz + la = tuzla (salt), toza + la = tozala (clean), so‘z + la = so‘zla (speak). The new word is a verb and answers Nima qildi?: ishladi, tuzladi, tozaladi.

Worked examples
Mum salted the soup. We cleaned the classroom. Dad works at a factory.
ish (noun) → ishla (verb); tuz (noun) → tuzla (verb); toza (adjective) → tozala (verb).
