Explanation

Names of relatives answer Kim?: bobo (grandfather), buvi (grandmother), ota, ona, aka (older brother), opa (older sister), uka (younger brother), singil (younger sister), xola (maternal aunt), tog‘a (maternal uncle). Plant names answer Nima?. They can be grouped: grains (bug‘doy – wheat, jo‘xori – maize, mosh – mung bean), fruits (olma – apple, behi – quince, shaftoli – peach, uzum – grapes), flowers (lola – tulip, atirgul – rose, boychechak – snowdrop). The ending -m means “my”: bobom — my grandfather.

Worked examples
Kim? — bobom, singlim, xolam, tog‘am. Nima? — mosh, behi, lola, atirgul.
Bobom bog‘da behi terdi. (My grandfather picked quinces in the garden.) Opam atirgul ekdi. (My sister planted a rose.) Bobom, opam — Kim?; behi, atirgul — Nima?
Class activity

“Garden and family”: two columns, “Kim?” and “Nima?”, are drawn on the board. Children write their family members and garden plants in the right column.
