Explanation
A noun answers Kim? Nima? (Kimlar? Nimalar?). An adjective answers Qanday? Qanaqa?. Noun-forming suffixes: -chi, -kor, -dosh, -zor, -loq. Adjective-forming suffixes: -li, -dor, -siz. There is also the verb-forming suffix -la: tuz — tuzla (to salt). Adding a suffix can change the kind of word: rang (noun) — rangli (adjective).
Worked examples
traktor — traktorchi (noun → noun); rang — rangli (noun → adjective); tuz — tuzla (noun → verb); tekis — tekisla (adjective → verb).
True or false? Adjectives answer Qanday? — true. Nouns answer Qanday? — false.
Class activity
“True – false”: the teacher reads a rule, children hold up a green or red card. A false rule is corrected.
