Textbook: Part 4, pp. 76–79
GoalReview the year: parts of a sentence, bases and suffixes.
New words
revision · takrorlashsubject · egapredicate · kesimrelated words · asosdosh
Explanation
Let us review. The subject answers Kim? Nima? and is underlined once. The predicate answers Nima qildi? Nima qiladi? and is underlined twice. Secondary parts are underlined with a wavy line. The part that carries the word’s meaning is the base (asos); what is added is a suffix. Words made from one base are related words (asosdosh): gul, gulzor, gulchi. A word-forming suffix makes a new word (-zor, -chi); a connecting suffix links words (-ning, -ni, -ga).
Worked examples
Bolalar bog‘da o‘ynayapti. (The children are playing in the garden.) Subject — bolalar, predicate — o‘ynayapti, «bog‘da» — a secondary part.
Base yoz: yozuv (writing), yozuvchi (writer), yozma (written) are related words. Base ish: ishchi (worker), ishla (work), ishsiz (jobless) are related words.
Class activity
“Analysis race”: two teams analyse a sentence on the board (subject, predicate, secondary parts). The faster correct team scores.
