Using the predicate (kesim) in a sentence

Textbook: Part 2, pp. 17–19
GoalKnow how the predicate is used and find it with a question.
New words
predicate · kesimaction · harakatto be linked · bog‘lanmoqspring · bahor
Explanation

The predicate is linked to the subject and tells what is said about it. It answers Nima qildi? Nima qiladi? Nima qilyapti?. The predicate usually comes at the end of the sentence. We must choose a predicate that fits the subject: a doctor treats, a teacher teaches, a driver drives.

Worked examples
“The little gardener”. In spring Sardor planted a sapling. Every day he waters it. The sapling slowly grew. One day a bud appeared on a twig. Sardor was very happy. Now he is looking at the tree.
Ko‘chat asta o‘sdi. Nima qildi? — o‘sdi (predicate). Nima o‘sdi? — ko‘chat (subject).
Class activity

“Who does what?”: children split into two teams. One team names a job (haydovchi, novvoy), the other says a fitting predicate (haydaydi – drives, non yopadi – bakes bread).

Practice
1
Find the predicate: Ko‘chat asta o‘sdi.
2
Choose the fitting predicate: Novvoy non ... (yopdi – baked, uxladi – slept).
3
What did Sardor do in spring?
