Explanation

A numeral names the quantity or order of things and answers qancha? necha? nechanchi?. There are six quantity numerals: counting (besh), piece (beshta), approximate (beshtacha, o‘nlab), distributive (beshtadan), collective (beshov) and fractional (beshdan bir). Ordinals are made with -(i)nchi: beshinchi. Counting words (kilogramm, nafar, bosh) come after the numeral. A noun after a numeral takes no plural. Compound numbers in words are written separately, and paired approximate numerals with a hyphen: o‘n-o‘n besh. An ordinal in digits takes a hyphen: 6-sinf.
