Explanation

Possessive pronouns (притяжательные местоимения) answer «чей? чья? чьё? чьи?». They match the personal pronouns: «я» — «мой, моя, моё, мои»; «ты» — «твой, твоя, твоё, твои»; «мы» — «наш, наша, наше, наши»; «вы» — «ваш, ваша, ваше, ваши». These change with the gender and number of the noun: «мой брат, моя сестра, моё место, мои друзья». For «он, она, они» we use «его, её, их», which never change: «его брат, его сестра, её книга, их дом». The plural has one form for all genders: «мои, твои, наши, ваши».

Worked examples
“Мой друг” (My friend). «Это мой друг. Его зовут Тимур. Это его сестра Лола. А это их дом. Это наша школа, а это ваш класс. Вот мои тетради, а это твои книги.» (This is my friend. His name is Timur. This is his sister Lola. And this is their house. This is our school and this is your classroom. Here are my notebooks and these are your books.)
Table: «я — мой, моя, моё, мои»; «ты — твой, твоя, твоё, твои»; «мы — наш, наша, наше, наши»; «вы — ваш, ваша, ваше, ваши»; «он — его»; «она — её»; «они — их».
