The main case, bosh kelishik (2)

Textbook: Part 2, pp. 17–18
GoalFind nouns in the main case in a text and make sentences with them.
New words
text · matnhealer, doctor · tabibscholar · olimto find · topmoq
Explanation

To find nouns in the main case in a text, we ask each noun a question: if the noun has no suffix and answers Kim? Nima? Qayer?, it is in the main case. A noun with a case suffix (daryoni, tog‘ga) is not in the main case. It is important to write main-case nouns correctly and use them well in sentences.

Worked examples
“Ibn Sino” (my own text). Abu Ali ibn Sino was a great scholar and physician. He was born near Bukhara. The scholar wrote many books. His works are still read today. Main case: Abu Ali ibn Sino, olim, tabib, asarlari.
Class activity

“Text hunter”: children find main-case nouns in a mini-text and write them in three columns: Kim? Nima? Qayer?

Practice
1
Name the main-case nouns: “Abu Ali ibn Sino buyuk olim va tabib bo‘lgan.”
2
Which noun is not in the main case: bola, bolani, bolalar?
3
Make a sentence where qush is a noun in the main case.
