Explanation
Let us recall spelling rules. A consonant that sounds voiceless at the end is checked by adding a vowel: kitob – kitobi. The apostrophe sign stands for no sound: ma’no, san’at. When the same consonants stand side by side, both are written: ikki. Word meanings: synonym, antonym, homonym. Word structure: base, word-forming and linking suffixes, possessive suffix.
Worked examples
Spelling: odob (odobi), to‘qqiz, e’lon, hovli. Meaning: katta – ulkan (synonyms), keng – tor (antonyms), tut – tut (homonyms).
Analysis: ishchilarimiz (our workers) – ish (base), -chi (word-forming), -lar (plural), -imiz (possessive).
