Kinds of sentences by purpose

Explanation

A statement gives information and ends with a full stop: Bugun havo issiq. A question asks something and ends with a question mark: Qayerga ketding? An exclamation shows strong feeling and ends with an exclamation mark: Qanday go‘zal bahor! A command orders or asks and usually ends with a full stop or an exclamation mark: Darsni boshlang. (Begin the lesson.)

Worked examples
Men sut ichdim. (statement) Sut ichdingmi? (question) Qanday mazali sut! (exclamation) Sut ich. (command)
Kitobni stolga qo‘ying. (Put the book on the table.) – a command.
Class activity

“Raise a sign”: the teacher reads a sentence, children raise a card with a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.
