Using verbs correctly in a text

Textbook: Part 4, pp. 51–53
GoalUse verbs correctly in a text: choose the right verb and keep the tense consistent.
New words
suitable · mostext · matntense · zamoncorrection · tuzatish
Explanation

In a text we choose the verb that fits: we sit at a desk, write on the board, close the door. If an event is told in the past, the verbs should also be in the past: Kecha biz bog‘ga bordik, olma terdik. (Yesterday we went to the garden and picked apples.) If tenses get mixed, the text becomes unclear. Affirmative and negative verbs must give the meaning correctly.

Worked examples
Partada to‘g‘ri o‘tiring. Doskada chiroyli yozing. (Sit straight at the desk. Write neatly on the board.)
Kecha yomg‘ir yog‘di. Biz uyda o‘tirdik, sayrga chiqmadik. (Yesterday it rained. We stayed at home and did not go for a walk.)
Class activity

“Text corrector”: the teacher gives a text with mixed tenses and children put the verbs into one tense.

Choose the fitting verb: Eshikni sekin ... (yoping / o‘qing).
