Adjectives joined to nouns (1)
Textbook: Part 3, pp. 12–13
GoalUnderstand how an adjective joins a noun and make adjective + noun phrases.
New words
phrase · so‘z birikmasito be joined · bog‘lanmoqgreen · yashilleaf · barg
Explanation
Adjectives usually join a noun and show its feature. The adjective stands before the noun: yashil barg, katta uy. When the noun is plural the adjective does not change: yashil barglar (not “yashillar barglar”). In an adjective + noun phrase the adjective answers Qanday? and the noun answers Nima? or Kim?
Worked examples
yashil barg (green leaf), yashil barglar (green leaves); katta uy (big house), katta uylar (big houses).
Qanday bola? – chaqqon bola (a nimble boy). Qanday gul? – chiroyli gul (a pretty flower).
Class activity
