Explanation

A word that shows the feature of a person or thing is an adjective. Adjectives answer Qanday? or Qanaqa? They show colour, taste, shape, quality: qizil olma (red apple), shirin uzum (sweet grapes), uzun yo‘l (long road), mehribon ona (kind mother). To find an adjective, ask Qanday? before the noun.

Worked examples
Baland tog‘ning cho‘qqisi oppoq qor bilan qoplangan. (The peak of the high mountain is covered with pure white snow.) Qanday tog‘? – baland. Qanday qor? – oppoq.
Nouns: bola, kitob. Adjectives: chaqqon (nimble), qiziqarli (interesting). Verb: o‘qidi.
Class activity

The “Qanday?” game: the teacher says a noun (olma) and children add adjectives (qizil olma, shirin olma). Whoever finds the most wins.
