The locative case, o‘rin-payt kelishigi (2)
Textbook: Part 2, pp. 43–45
GoalTell the locative from the directional and ablative cases; use it with possessive suffixes.
New words
to distinguish · farqlashyard · hovlibag · sumkapencil · qalam
Explanation
Qayerda? (-da) is the locative, Qayerga? (-ga) the directional, Qayerdan? (-dan) the ablative. Bog‘da – in the garden, bog‘ga – to the garden, bog‘dan – out of the garden. -da is also written after possessive suffixes: kitobimda, sumkasida, qalamida. The verb decides which case is needed.
Worked examples
Uyda o‘tirdim. (I sat at home.) Uyga keldim. (I came home.) Uydan chiqdim. (I went out of the house.)
Qalamim sumkamda. (My pencil is in my bag.) Daftari sumkasida yotibdi. (His/her notebook lies in his/her bag.)
