Working with a text

Textbook: Part 4, pp. 73–75
GoalWork on a text: find the theme, main idea and plan points.
New words
theme · mavzuidea · fikrplan · rejaconclusion · xulosa
Explanation

After reading, we find the theme: what is the text about? We find the main idea: what does the author want to tell us? For each part we write a plan point. The title expresses the theme or the main idea. We also give our own opinion and draw a conclusion.

Worked examples
“A bird’s nest”. In winter Gulbahor scattered grain at the window. The next day sparrows flew to her. The girl did not forget to put grain out every day. In spring the sparrows built a nest in her tree. Kindness is never lost. Theme — caring for birds. Main idea — kindness returns goodness.
Class activity
