Explanation

A numeral (son) is a word that shows how many people or things there are. We ask it Nechta? or Qancha? (How many? How much?). For countable things we ask Nechta?: beshta qalam (five pencils). For measured things we ask Qancha?: ikki kilogramm un (two kilograms of flour). Numerals and adjectives are alike: both link to nouns. But an adjective shows a feature (Qanday?) and a numeral shows number (Nechta?).

Worked examples
Nechta qalam? — Beshta qalam. Qancha un? — Ikki kilogramm un.
Yetti o‘lchab, bir kes. (Measure seven times, cut once.) — «Yetti» and «bir» are numerals (Necha marta? – how many times?).
