Words that are said and written the same but mean different things are called homonyms. We find the meaning from the sentence. There can be two or more: ot — horse, ot — name, ot — shoot. Homonyms may belong to different kinds of words: tut (noun, mulberry) and tut (verb, hold).

Hovlimizda baland tut o‘sadi. (A tall mulberry tree grows in our yard.) Arqonning uchini mahkam tut. (Hold the end of the rope firmly.)
Cho‘pon qo‘yni haydadi. (The shepherd drove the sheep.) Kitobni javonga qo‘y. (Put the book on the shelf.) Bog‘da gul ochildi. (A flower opened in the garden.) Idishning og‘zini bog‘. (Tie the neck of the container.)
