Creativity hour. Project: forming words
Textbook: Part 4, pp. 59–61
GoalCreativity hour: word-forming games (naming the person who does a sport) and making a daily routine with verbs.
New words
game · o‘yindaily routine · kun tartibiwinner · g‘olibteam · jamoa
Explanation
We practise word formation through games. Adding -chi to the name of a sport gives the name of a person who does that sport: shaxmat – shaxmatchi (chess player), kurash – kurashchi (wrestler). In the “Find a verb” game children write verbs beginning with a given letter. When we make a daily routine we use verbs: turaman (I get up), yuvinaman (I wash), nonushta qilaman (I have breakfast), darsga boraman (I go to class).
Worked examples
Shaxmatchi o‘ylab yurish qildi. (The chess player thought and made a move.) – shaxmat + chi.
Ertalab soat yettida turaman, yuvinaman, keyin nonushta qilaman. (I get up at seven, wash and then have breakfast.) – verbs in a daily routine.
Class activity
Teams play “Find the athlete”: the teacher names a sport (kurash, boks, shaxmat); the team forms the name of the person who does it and makes a sentence with it. Then everyone says three verbs from their own daily routine.
Practice
1
Form the name of the person from “kurash” (wrestling) and make a sentence.
For example: kurashchi – Akam kurashchi bo‘lmoqchi. (My brother wants to be a wrestler.)
2
Write 3 verbs beginning with “a”.
For example: aytdi, ayirdi, ajratdi.
3
Write three verbs from your daily routine.
For example: turaman, nonushta qilaman, darsga boraman.
