Explanation

The case of a noun in a sentence depends on the word it is joined to. The verb bormoq asks Qayerga?: maktabga bordi. The verb o‘qimoq asks Nimani?: kitobni o‘qidi. When a noun is joined to a noun, the possessive case is used: bolaning kitobi. When you find a mistake, ask the sentence a question.

Worked examples
Mistake: Biz bog‘ni bordik. Correct: Biz bog‘ga bordik. (We went to the garden.)
Mistake: Akamni kitobi stolda. Correct: Akamning kitobi stolda. (My brother’s book is on the table.)
