Spelling of derived nouns

Textbook: Part 3, pp. 56–58
GoalKnow the spelling of derived nouns: base and suffix are written together.
New words
derived · yasamaspelling · imlotogether · birgalike-minded person · fikrdosh
Explanation

Derived nouns are single words and the base and suffix are written together: ish + chi = ishchi (worker), bino + kor = binokor (builder), gul + zor = gulzor, sinf + dosh = sinfdosh. No hyphen or space goes between them. The letters of the base do not change, so in related words the base is written the same way.

Worked examples
ov — ovchi, g‘alla — g‘allakor, qum — qumloq, archa — archazor, fikr — fikrdosh.
Wrong: gul-zor, sinf dosh. Right: gulzor, sinfdosh.
Class activity
