Telling singular and plural nouns apart

Textbook: Part 3, pp. 40–42
GoalTell singular and plural nouns apart in a text.
New words
yard · hovlito chirp · chuldiramoqto throw · tashlamoqto tell apart · farqlamoq
Explanation

To tell singular and plural nouns apart we look at the question. Kim? Nima? — singular; Kimlar? Nimalar? — plural. Plural nouns take the suffix -lar: bolalar, qushlar. In a text we can mark singular nouns with one line and plural nouns with two lines.

Worked examples
“Our yard”. There is a big tree in our yard. Birds are chirping in the tree. Children play under the tree. They throw grain to the birds.
Singular: hovli, daraxt. Plural: qushlar, bolalar.
Class activity
