Explanation

A word naming the kind of animal or bird is written with a small letter: mushuk (cat), kuchuk (dog). The name or nickname given to it is written with a capital letter: Momiq, Boybo‘ri. A sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark.

Worked examples
“My Momiq”. My cat is Momiq. He is grey and fluffy. Momiq sleeps on the windowsill every day. One day he wanted to hunt a bird. But the bird flew away. Momiq was not upset; he drank milk.
Wrong: bizning kuchugimiz boybo‘ri hovlini qo‘riqlaydi. Right: Bizning kuchugimiz Boybo‘ri hovlini qo‘riqlaydi. (Our dog Boybo‘ri guards the yard.)
