Explanation

A rivoyat is a story passed down orally from generation to generation. In the textbook legend “Ilmsizlik zulmati” (The darkness of ignorance) a boy who dislikes studying gets into trouble and understands that knowledge is needed even for simple jobs. We read our own story on the same idea. Knowledge is light, ignorance is darkness.

Worked examples
“Sherzod and the salt”. Sherzod did not like studying. One day his mother sent him to the shop to bring salt. On the shelf two jars had something written on them. Sherzod could not read the labels and took the jar with sugar. In the evening the soup turned out sweet. Sherzod felt embarrassed and from the next day began to learn the letters seriously.
Main idea: knowledge is needed even in everyday tasks.
Class activity

Two groups: group 1 says “What is a child who reads like?”, group 2 “What is a child who does not read like?”
