The owl and the crow

Textbook: Part 3, pp. 14–15
GoalDescribe the characters of a tale about birds; say the most interesting part of the tale.
New words
rooster · xo‘rozboastful · maqtanchoqto crow, to shout · qichqirmoqto feel ashamed · uyalmoq
Explanation

In the textbook the tale “Boyo‘g‘li bilan qarg‘a” (The owl and the crow) is listened to as audio: the crow asks the owl to paint him in the most beautiful way and ends up upset. When describing a tale’s characters we tell their behaviour and what they did. We read our own tale about birds.

Worked examples
“The boastful rooster”. The rooster used to boast: “When I crow, the sun rises!” One day he overslept and did not crow. The sun still rose on time. The hens laughed at the rooster. The rooster felt ashamed and bowed his head. Since then he does not boast.
Description of the hero: the rooster — boastful, but able to see his mistake.
