A wonderful find
Textbook: Part 4, pp. 22–26
GoalSay how simple things — chalk, pencil, ink — help people.
New words
chalk · bo‘rink · siyohinvention · ixtirodiscovery · kashfiyot
Explanation
At school we use a board, chalk, pencils and pens every day. These simple things also appeared through the work of inventors. The ancient Egyptians made ink from soot and tree sap. The ballpoint pen was invented by László Bíró. Much truth is written with a piece of chalk. In the tale “Ajoyib topilma” (A wonderful find) in the textbook a picture drawn in chalk comes alive.
Worked examples
“The chalk’s story”. I am a little piece of chalk. The teacher took me and wrote letters on the board. The children read the letters and found a new word. Each time I write I get smaller. In the end I turn into dust. But what the children have learned does not disappear.
Ink is for writing. Chalk is for writing on the board.
