Explanation
A friend is a companion who is open-hearted, helps and keeps a secret. Friendship gladdens a person and makes them stronger. There is a saying that a friend is known when trouble comes. Friends respect each other, tell the truth and are together in play and in lessons. In the poem in the textbook the wish is that the children of the Earth be friends with each other.
Worked examples
“Two friends”. Aziz and Hasan study in the same class. Aziz fell ill and could not come to school. Hasan took him the notebook and homework. Aziz was very glad. They did exercises together. This is what true friendship is like.
A friend is a helper. Ahil means harmonious.
Class activity
“Garden of friendship”: children cut out a flower and write a warm word to a friend on it.
