In the garden

Textbook: Part 3, pp. 25–27
GoalFind descriptive words in a text (qip-qizil, sap-sariq, tap-tap); describe a garden.
New words
gardener · bog‘bonbranch · shoxdescription · tasvirto ripen · pishmoq
Explanation

Descriptive words bring to mind the colour, sound or state of a thing: qip-qizil (bright red) apple, sap-sariq (bright yellow) pear, fruit falling tap-tap. In Mirmuhsin’s tale “Olxo‘ri va o‘rik” (Plum and apricot) in the textbook the spring garden is described this way. We read our own text about an autumn garden.

Worked examples
“The autumn garden”. Bright yellow pears ripened in the garden. When the wind blew, apples fell tap-tap to the ground. The branches bent under bright red pomegranates. Gardener Grandfather filled the baskets. I took a deep breath and enjoyed the sweet smell of the garden.
Descriptive words: sap-sariq, qip-qizil, yam-yashil (green), oppoq (white), tap-tap.
Class activity

“Colour game”: the teacher names a thing (watermelon) and children find its descriptive word (yam-yashil).
