Section review
Textbook: Part 3, pp. 28–32
GoalReview the section on tales; tell positive and negative characters apart.
New words
positive · ijobiynegative · salbiygreedy · ochko‘zhonest · halol
Explanation
In this section we read folk tales, animal tales, literary tales and tales about nature. In a tale the positive hero is honest, hardworking and kind; the negative one is greedy, a liar or lazy. In Mubina’s tale in the textbook several tales get mixed up; we learn to create a tale consciously.
Worked examples
“The treasury of tales”. In tales good always wins over evil. The positive hero is honest, hardworking and kind. The negative hero is greedy, a liar or lazy. “Bor ekan, yo‘q ekan” is the usual beginning of a tale. Tales teach us to be good.
Positive: the clever goat, the careful rooster. Negative: the greedy wolf, the cunning fox.
