Fish farming, beekeeping and rabbit breeding
Fish and fish products are similar to farm animals’ meat in nourishment and a little better in digestibility. Eighty percent of the fish caught are taken from open waters; fish-breeding farms on reservoirs are increasing, and fast-growing kinds such as grass carp, snakehead and bighead carp are raised. Beekeeping gives honey, wax, propolis and royal jelly; honey is valued for nourishment and healing, and wax and propolis are used in medicine and veterinary medicine. Rabbits are raised for meat and fur: rabbit meat is rich in protein, low in cholesterol and dietary; the fur is soft, colourful and cheap. They breed fast, eat various feeds, and give on average 1.5–2 kg of meat at four months. Safety: a bee sting can be dangerous (allergy in some people), so children approach hives only with the beekeeper and in protective clothing; do not walk by water without adults; rabbits can bite and scratch, so handle them beside an adult.
Poster: draw the products of fish farming, beekeeping and rabbit farming on a poster. No approaching hives or animals, work with pictures.
