Stitching embroidery stitch samples
Back stitch is a continuous row of equal stitches: the needle goes forward and each next stitch goes into the point where the previous one ended. Suv stitch is made of closely set slanting stitches; the thread must stay on one side while sewing and the direction cannot be changed. Iroqisimon stitch is sewn along two thread tracks or a flower outline, the stitches going alternately to one side and the other and overlapping. Hem (yo‘rma) stitch folds the fabric edge 3–4 cm and basts it, so it is also called an edge seam. Loop (petlya) stitches are perpendicular to the edge and sewn without a hoop; popop stitch is a continuous row of loops coming out of one another, sewn with or without a hoop. All must be even and equal in size, and the fabric must not pucker.
Stitch map: a game matching each stitch name with its diagram. The sewing of samples is not in this lesson but in lesson 83 with the teacher.
