Explanation

To find a numeral in a sentence we ask questions to the words one by one. If a word answers nechta? or qancha?, it is a numeral. Then we say which word it goes with: o‘nta gul (nechta gul? – how many flowers?). The numeral is written together with its word and is underlined: Bog‘da yigirma ikkita gul ochildi. (Twenty-two flowers opened in the garden.)

Worked examples
Dadam ikki soat ishladi. (Dad worked for two hours.) – ikki answers qancha? and goes with “soat”.
Stolda uchta kitob va bitta daftar bor. (There are three books and one notebook on the table.) – uchta (kitob), bitta (daftar).
