Explanation

Adjectives are divided into several kinds by meaning. Colour: qizil, yashil, moviy. Taste: shirin, nordon, sho‘r, achchiq. Shape and size: dumaloq, uzun, tor, katta. Character and quality: mehribon, sabrli, halol, dangasa. To find the kind, see what the adjective describes: colour, taste, shape, or a person’s quality.

Worked examples
Moviy osmon (blue sky – colour), nordon limon (sour lemon – taste), uzun yo‘l (long road – shape/size), halol inson (honest person – quality).
Dumaloq to‘p (round ball), sho‘r sho‘rva (salty soup), sabrli qiz (a patient girl), yashil maysa (green grass).
Class activity

“Four baskets”: four baskets (colour, taste, shape, quality) on the board; children drop adjective cards into the right basket.
