Explanation

Names of school supplies are nouns too: qalam (pencil), daftar (notebook), o‘chirg‘ich (eraser), chizg‘ich (ruler), doska (board). They answer Nima?. Natural phenomena: tuman (fog), kamalak (rainbow), bo‘ron (storm). Plant and animal names: terak (poplar), kapalak (butterfly). Some nouns end with the letter k and are written that way: kapalak, chelak (bucket), yurak (heart), ko‘ylak (dress), ertak (tale).

Worked examples
Rangli kapalak lolaga qo‘ndi. (A colourful butterfly landed on a tulip.) Nouns: kapalak, lola. Terak yo‘l bo‘yida o‘sadi. (A poplar grows by the road.) Nouns: terak, yo‘l.
School supplies: qalam, o‘chirg‘ich, chizg‘ich. Natural phenomena: tuman, kamalak, bo‘ron.
Class activity

“What’s in my bag?”: children show a school supply from their bag, name it and ask “Nima?”.
