What’s that? What are those?
Textbook: p. 18
GoalAsk about far things: “What’s that? — It’s a snake. What are those? — They’re leaves.”
New words
that · anavi (uzoqda)those · anavilarit’s · u, buthey’re · ular
Explanation
For one thing that is far away: “What’s that? — It’s a snail.” For many things far away: “What are those? — They’re butterflies.” “That” = one, “those” = more than one. The answer matches: it’s (one), they’re (many). For things near you we use this/these: “What’s this?”, “What are these?”
Worked examples
— What’s that? — It’s a rabbit. — What are those? — They’re turtles.
What are those on the tree? They’re green leaves.
