Explanation

Value: reuse an old thing for a new purpose instead of throwing it away — for example, make an old jar into a pencil holder. Making choices: “Which one would you like?” — “I’d like the red one, please.” “I’d like” = “I want” (polite). Say it! — the sound ch: cheese, chair, lunch, chicken, chimpanzee.

Worked examples
“A second life”. Zarina wants to throw away an old glass jar. Her brother Said says “Wait! Let’s make a pencil holder!” He shows her two ribbons: “Which one would you like?” Zarina says “I’d like the red one, please.” She decorates the jar with the red ribbon. Now it sits on her desk and holds everyone’s pencils. “Reuse is fun!” says Zarina.
— Which one would you like? — I’d like the cheese sandwich, please.
Class activity

“Reuse workshop”: make something from an old jar, box or newspaper. Choose: “Which one would you like?” — “I’d like the blue box.” Repeat the ch words.
