Explanation

Beach words: sun, burger, fries, sunglasses, swimsuit, shorts, towel, shell, ocean, sand. “Sunglasses” and “shorts” are always plural: a pair of sunglasses, a pair of shorts.

Worked examples
I have a swimsuit, a towel and sunglasses in my bag.
The sand is hot and the ocean is blue.
Class activity

“Pack the bag”: children show what they pack for the beach: “I have a towel, sunglasses and a swimsuit.” Then find what is missing from a friend’s bag.
