Explanation
A value is something very precious to people. Family, language, homeland, books and hospitality are our values. The Uzbek people respect guests. There is an expression “A guest is greater than parents”. When a guest comes, a tablecloth is spread and kind words are said. The legend in the textbook also speaks about a guest.
Worked examples
“A guest arrived”. Our neighbour came to visit us. Mum spread the tablecloth. I brought tea to the guest. I greeted the guest and said kind words. Everybody was happy. Hospitality is our value.
A value is a dear thing. Hospitable means one who welcomes guests well.
Class activity
“Basket of values”: children write a value on paper and put it in a basket; the class picks and comments.
