Write out the grammatical base: «Над площадью медленно плыли белые облака», «Мальчики хотят выучить новые песни».

Make one sentence with each kind of predicate (simple verbal, compound verbal, compound nominal).
For example: «Ветер стих». «Мы продолжаем заниматься». «Вечер был тёплым».

Write five sentences showing five ways of expressing the subject: noun, pronoun, numeral, infinitive and phrase.
For example: «Поезд прибыл». «Я устал». «Трое опоздали». «Лениться — плохая привычка». «Стадо коров вышло на луг».

Compare «Мой брат — студент» and «Мой брат был студентом»: how are the link and the nominal part expressed?
In the first the link is zero (present tense) and the nominal part is a noun in the nominative; in the second there are «был» and «студентом» in the instrumental.

Write a mini-text of two sentences («Моё увлечение»); underline the subject and predicate in each and name the kind of predicate.
