The sentence. Logical stress. Word order
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Read with three different logical stresses and write which question each answers: «Вчера Зарина купила в магазине тетрадь».
«Вчера» — «когда?»; «Зарина» — «кто?»; «тетрадь» — «что?» (or «в магазине» — «где?»).
2
Put into direct order: «Наступила осень», «Поднялся над рекой туман», «Звучит в зале музыка».
Осень наступила. Туман поднялся над рекой. Музыка звучит в зале.
3
Make two Russian sentences, translate them into Uzbek and write how the place of the predicate differs in Russian and Uzbek.
The answer depends on the student's sentences; the Uzbek predicate must always be last.
4
Why do «Сестра ждёт брата» and «Брата ждёт сестра» mean almost the same, while changing the order in «Мать ждёт дочь» is risky? Explain briefly.
«Брата» is clearly accusative, while «мать» and «дочь» have identical subject and object forms.
5
Write a mini-text of 5 sentences («Мой выходной день»); include at least one sentence with inverted order and underline it.
For example: «Наступило утро. Я позавтракал и вышел на улицу…» (inversion: «Наступило утро»).
