Make up one sentence of your own for each of the five styles and write its style.
For example: «Hoy, kel-chi!» (“Hey, come here!”) – colloquial; «Quyosh shu’lasi tunni haydadi» (“The sun’s ray drove the night away”) – artistic; «Suv 100 °C da qaynaydi» (“Water boils at 100 °C”) – scientific; «Ariza qabul qilindi» (“The application was accepted”) – official; «Yangi bog‘ aholi uchun ochildi» (“A new park was opened for residents”) – publicistic.

Explain in 3 sentences what stylistics is.
Stylistics studies the language means of speech styles; it helps to choose words and forms fitting the situation; its aim is to build accurate and effective speech.

From one day of your communication (at home, at school, on the phone) write three speech situations and decide the style.
For example: at home with family – colloquial; answering in class – literary colloquial; writing an application – official.

Draw a table “Language / Speech” with two features in each column.
Language: system, general, stable. Speech: in a concrete situation, new each time, oral or written.
