Explanation
Project 1: design your own clothes for the future. Decide if they are for girls, boys or both, list every part (clothes, shoes, a hat) and give the colour and the material of each part. Example: “My design is for girls. It includes a long yellow dress and white shoes. The dress is made of cotton and the shoes are made of leather.” Project 2: national clothes of a country. Make a fact file: country, girls or boys, parts, materials, colours, your opinion. Opinion: “I like these clothes because they are colourful and comfortable.” In the presentation use clear, short sentences.
Worked examples
Fact file. Country: Japan. Clothes: a kimono for women. Parts: a long robe, a wide belt (obi) and wooden sandals. Materials: silk and wood. Colours: often bright. My opinion: I like it because it is elegant, but it looks uncomfortable.
My design for the school sports day: a light blue cotton T-shirt, white shorts and trainers. The T-shirt has a small tile pattern. It is made of cotton, so it is cool and comfortable.
Class activity
“Fashion show”: pupils present their projects in four sentences and the class asks one question.
