Textbook: p. 36
GoalReading pupils’ blog posts about a favourite sport and hobby; writing a personal opinion with reasons.
New words
dance · raqspractise · mashq qilmoqteam · jamoafavourite · sevimli
Explanation
The book has two blog posts: one about basketball and the other about dance. In both, the writer gives reasons for loving the activity: why they like it, how they practise and what makes them happy. Below is my own blog post. Read it and answer the questions. A blog post can have: 1) a title and date, 2) the name of the activity, 3) why you like it (because), 4) how you practise, 5) a plan for the future (I want to ...).
Worked examples
“Why I love swimming”. 12 May. I go swimming three times a week because it makes me feel strong. First I do warm-up exercises, then I swim twenty lengths with my coach. I like swimming more than football because I don’t need a team to practise. Next year I want to take part in the city championship.
Mini-dialogue. — Why does she like swimming? — It makes her feel strong, and she doesn’t need a team. — What does she want to do next year? — She wants to take part in the city championship.
