Finishing the apron neckline
The top edge of the bib is treated like the hem: folded, or finished with binding, lace or a ruffle. With the fold method the edge is folded 0.5 cm and then 2 cm and basted by hand. A machine stitch is sewn 0.1 cm from the basting line, the basting thread is pulled out and the seams are pressed with damp heat. With a ruffle the trim is cut one and a half times the edge length, one side is finished with overcast stitch, the other is stitched with a 4 mm stitch and gathered. The right side of the ruffle goes on the upper right side of the bib, is basted with a 1 cm allowance, stitched, the allowance is overcast, and a decorative topstitch is sewn on top.
Pair check: one pupil shuffles the step cards and the other puts them in the right order. Only the teacher uses the iron.
