Explanation

To reach a goal you need practice and patience as well as talent. The textbook audio text “Maqsadiga erishgan bolalar” (Children who reached their goals) speaks about the Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: he was born on 27 January 1756 in Salzburg and showed his musical talent very early. We do not repeat the audio text; we listen to our own. While listening we note names, dates and the main idea.

Worked examples
Audio text “The violin and patience”. At eight years old Zilola began to learn the violin. At first the sound squeaked and hurt the ears. Every day Zilola practised for at least half an hour. Her teacher said: “A great tune begins with small exercises.” After six months she could play a simple song. At the end of the year Zilola performed at the school concert. Everyone in the hall applauded.
Main idea: practice and patience lead to the goal.
Class activity

“Goal ladder”: children write their goal at the top of a big ladder and the steps towards it on the rungs.
