Explanation
In nature everything is linked like a chain: water, plants, animals and people. The textbook legend “Tabiat zanjiri” (The chain of nature) tells about a stream coming down from the mountain. We do not repeat it; we read our own text. A legend tells an event, while an informative text gives exact facts: for example, water evaporates from the sea, turns into cloud, falls as rain and returns to the sea through rivers.
Worked examples
“The journey of a drop”. A drop on the surface of the sea, warmed by the sun, became vapour and rose into the sky. Together with other drops it became a cloud. The wind drove the cloud toward the mountains. There the drop fell as rain and watered the grass. A hare ate the grass and a fox hunted the hare. The remaining water flowed into a stream, then a river and returned to the sea. “Everything is needed by everything else,” said the drop.
Food chain: grass → hare → fox.
Class activity
