Textbook: Part 1, pp. 13–15
GoalExplain why we respect every worker and keep our surroundings clean; retell a story.
New words
profession · kasbto value · qadrlamoqto sweep · supurmoqrespect · hurmat
Explanation
Every profession brings benefit: the doctor heals, the teacher teaches, the driver takes passengers where they need to go, and the street cleaner keeps the city tidy. In the textbook story “Opa-singillar” (The two sisters) two curious girls meet an old man and learn what a profession is. We do not retell it; we read our own text. When retelling, we tell events in order: what happened first, then next, and how it ended.
Worked examples
“The broom at dawn”. Anvar left for school a little early. On the street Aunt Salima was sweeping the road with a broom. Anvar was about to drop a sweet wrapper on the ground, but seeing the aunt’s tired face he put it in his pocket. Aunt Salima said she starts work at five in the morning. Anvar asked her: “Is your work hard?” The aunt smiled and said: “It is hard, but I am happy when the city is clean.” After that Anvar never threw rubbish in the street.
Plan: 1) Anvar saw the aunt; 2) he put the wrapper in his pocket; 3) they talked; 4) he decided never to litter.
