Explanation

A story has three parts: the beginning (how it starts), the development (what happens) and the ending (how it finishes). The textbook has the story “Filipok” by Lev Tolstoy, the famous Russian writer, author of the novel “War and Peace”, who also wrote short stories for children. In the story a little boy dares to go to school. We do not retell it; we read our own text.

Worked examples
“Zarif’s writings”. Zarif does not yet go to school. He gazed at his older brother’s books and wanted to learn the letters. One day, going to the market with his grandmother, he searched with his eyes for a sign on a shop counter. Putting the letters together one by one, he read the word “NON” (bread). His grandmother was amazed and hugged him. In the evening his brother gave Zarif a new notebook. That day Zarif wrote his first word.
Parts: beginning – Zarif wants to read; development – reads the sign at the market; ending – he is given a notebook.
