Explanation

Madh is describing something or someone with love and praise. Poems praising the homeland are also written. The textbook has the poem “Yurt madhi” (In praise of the homeland) by Dilshod Rajab, which names our regions one by one. We do not retell the poem; we read our own text. Uzbekistan has 12 regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the city of Tashkent. Our capital is Tashkent.

Worked examples
“My homeland, you are paradise”. My homeland is very beautiful. Its mountains are white with snow, fruit orchards bloom in its valleys. Samarkand is the crown of ancient cities, Khorezm is famous for the city of Khiva. In Fergana silk is produced, in the Navoi region gold is mined. In our capital Tashkent there are many schools, libraries and gardens. I love every corner of my homeland and dream of seeing it.
Uzbekistan has 12 regions: Andijan, Bukhara, Fergana, Jizzakh, Khorezm, Namangan, Navoi, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Surkhandarya, Tashkent.
